Mark Lucas has worked in predominately  in procurement  but also sales for over thirty years. In the eighties and early nineties he began his purchasing career in the UK construction industry hiring plant, then mobilising materials for a number of building contractors specialising in passive fire protection, dry-lining and suspended ceilings.  During the latter part of the nineties he entered the world of local government working, gaining his first experience of EU Procurement Directives, working  for a business unit supplying goods and services to schools and local authorities. Since 2002 Mark has worked for Nottingham Trent University in it’s Procurement Department, initially as Senior Buyer but since  2005 as purchasing Manager leading a select team of procurement professionals, currently managing a non-pay spend in excess of £90M. Over the past ten years he has been heavily involved in the  University’s investment in the re- generation  of it’s Estate  to the tune of £350M.  He is an active member of the  collaborative consortium based procurement and shared services initiatives. He also chaired the HE National Postal Working for over 6 years.
